The first great Brazilian diamond weighing 201.88 carats has been discovered in the mines of Bagagem in the Brazilian province of Minas Gerais in July 1853. The diamond had a bluish tint and an extraordinary clarity. Its initial shape was a 12 sided rhombus. The cutting was done in Amsterdam. After the cutting, stone's weight decreased to 128.0 carats.
